Nearly all children starting primary school this September have been offered their first-choice school today.
Swindon Borough Council has offered 98.6 per cent of children their first-choice school, after their School Admissions team received 2,432 on-time applications.
Parents were able to select up to three schools and 99.8 per cent of families were offered a place at one of their top three preferred schools.
Annette Perrington, Swindon Borough Council’s director of inclusion and achievement, said: “We have fantastic primary schools here in Swindon and I’m very pleased that 98.6 per cent of pupils will be able to attend their first-choice primary school in September.
"Starting school is always an exciting and slightly daunting time for parents and children. It’s always reassuring for parents to have a confirmed place at their school of choice.”
Parents who applied online before the deadline (January 15) can expect an email today.
Throughout the day, there will be letters sent to parents who declined the offer email and emails sent to those who missed the deadline.
Any queries regarding primary school places should be emailed to School Admissions (schooladmissions@swindon.gov.uk) or parents are advised to contact the school directly.
