A drug-driving thief caught with a hacksaw, hammers, and other equipment has been sentenced.
Kelvin Crook, of no fixed abode, appeared in the dock at Swindon Magistrates' Court on April 12.
The 50-year-old pleaded guilty to using threatening or insulting words or behaviour in Swindon on March 26, 2024.
He also admitted to damaging a bike lock belonging to Wiltshire Police, trying to steal a 'bait' bike from the police, and going equipped for theft by having pliers and a hacksaw on him on March 30, 2024.
On March 10, Crook stole a woman's perfume and GPS dashcam, and was caught going equipped for theft with three red hammers, a Bosch drill, a small magnet, and a handheld touch light.
The defendant failed to surrender to custody at Swindon Magistrates' Court on March 27, 2024, having been released on bail in criminal proceedings on March 10.
He drove along Junction 20 of the M5 southbound on August 7, 2023 while having 800mg of Benzylecognine (cocaine) per litre of blood in his system.
He received a 16-month driving ban and a community order that requires him to carry out six months of drug rehabilitation sessions and up to 15 rehabilitation activity days, as well as pay £85 in court costs.
