Streets in Redhouse and Blunsdon have received a colourful but unwanted makeover this month.
The Swindon suburb was shocked when Holst Road and Dyson Road was covered with a trail of mystery pink liquid that had been seen leaking from a waste collection lorry doing rounds in the area.
Swindon Borough Council determined that the cause was someone putting paint in their general waste bin.
But, just a few minutes away, a 'mystery blue liquid', that was also thought to be paint, was similarly spread in blobs onto the street of Dovedale.
This has led to the ward councillor for the area Daniel Adams issuing a warning to homeowners to discard their paint properly.
"There have been two instances this week of what appears to be paint being put into people's black bins this week and as a result being spilt all over the road.
"Just a reminder that paint should be disposed of at the recycling centre in town and not general waste bins.
"I've managed to get most of one cleaned up now and working on another at the moment but this is easily avoidable.
"If you are unsure as to what waste needs to go where then please check via the council website's recycling guide.
"Any questions then please let me know."
