The owner of a ‘beloved’ restaurant has decided to sell and make a fresh start.
Carlo Sibilla has owned Gaetano on Victoria Road for 15 years, yet announced he had decided to sell.
In a public announcement, the owner expressed his excitement about starting a new chapter of his life.
It said: “Big news! After an incredible journey of almost 15 years, I have made the decision to sell my beloved Italian restaurant.
“While this marks the end of an era, it also marks the beginning of a new adventure for me.
“I am excited about the opportunity to explore new ventures and projects, and you may still spot me around the area!”
The information provided suggests that a new owner has already been found.
It continues: “The new owner will be introducing fresh pizza and fresh pasta dishes, bringing a new energy to the place.”
The restaurant, founded in 1982, is known for its great food and generous portion sizes, with fans of the ristorante expressing their excitement for the future of their favourite chef.
One said: “End of an era! We've had so many amazing meals and memories created with you both!
“Wishing you nothing but luck, love, health and happiness!
“Thank you our friends! You'll always be our favourite restauranteurs!”

The restaurant describes itself as ‘proud to continue the tradition of cooking the best quality food - cooked with Italian passion and served with Italian hospitality’.
It has outstandingly positive reviews with a 4.3 rating on Google, out of 224 reviews, and the friendly atmosphere and food quality being mentioned repeatedly.
They were awarded the Tripadvisor Traveller’s Choice Award in 2021 for being ranked in the top 10 per cent of places in their category.
The owner thanked customers, saying: “Your loyalty and support have been priceless, and I am grateful for every moment shared with you!
“Thank you for being a part of Gaetano’s story. If you want to pop in for a ciao before that date, you’re more than welcome!”
The current owner’s last day will be April 28, after which it will be closed for a period of refurbishment.
