A new road surface is being rolled out along parts of the regenerated Fleming Way development.
The latest photos of the scene show tarmac being added to recently completed sections of the £33 million scheme which is slowly transforming a key route through the town centre.
Part of the fencing near the junction with Princes Street was temporarily removed so that loaders full of tarmac could access the area and pour the material onto sections of the under-construction highway.
Steamrollers were on standby ready to flatten and smoothen it out, giving us the best glimpse yet at what the road will look like when the rest of the project is completed.
At the moment, the patch of newly-tarmacked road abruptly ends with a sharp drop onto uneven ground full of dirt and rubble.
Fleming Way is being lowered to the level of the old, now-demolished underpass near The Parade and given a new layout which will turn it into a hub for bus services.
All buses previously operating from Swindon bus station and from Fleming Way will leave from a single location that also serves inter-urban bus and coach services.
Work on the scheme began in September 2022 and is due to be completed by autumn 2025.
