Several businesses and homes are without electricity after an underground fault has caused a power cut to hit Swindon.
The power cut, which was reported just after midday on Wednesday, April 24, is affecting 26 homes in 11 different postcode areas, including vital supermarkets and pharmacies.
Tesco Express, Jhoots Pharmacy, Olga's Hair Studio and Shaw Kebab House, all located just off Ramleaze Drive, all look to have been affected as well as other businesses on this stretch of road, according to a map released by Scottish and Southern Electricity Network (SSEN).
The Shaw Village Centre and Village Inn are also being affected.
SSEN has stated that a "fault on the underground network" is thought to be the cause of the power cut and first estimated that electricity would be restored by 2pm.
But at 3.30pm the homes and businesses were still without power.
"We're very sorry for the power cut and are aware of a fault on our local network affecting several homes," said a spokesperson for SSEN.
"Our engineers are working hard to get power restored as soon as possible.
"This is a common type of fault and our teams are very experienced in dealing with these issues."
