A new Greggs store appears to be set to open in Swindon.

The planned new store in the West Swindon District Centre appears to be on its way months after it was originally scheduled.

The town's ninth Greggs was due to open in the summer of 2023, with a spokesperson for the bakery saying at the time: “Greggs is due to open a new shop in the Swindon West Asda shop within the next few weeks."

But its arrival was hit with a string of delays and other than some visible branded hoardings inside the West Swindon District Centre, there appeared to be no visible progress for a long time.

That was until March, when Greggs confirmed it still intended to open a store there and would be doing so "within the next few weeks".

Now, the hoardings that have been present since July 2023 have come down, revealing an almost-ready Greggs store behind them - albeit one not yet stocked with sausage rolls and steak bakes.
