A popular Swindon Wetherspoons pub has been awarded a five-star hygiene rating.
The Dockle Farmhouse on Bridge End Road was given the top rating in Swindon Borough Council’s Scores on the Doors programme.
Inspectors from the council judge pubs, restaurants, takeaways and clubs based on how hygienic and well-managed food preparation is, as well as structural compliance and confidence in management.
The pub ranked very good for food hygiene and confidence in management and scored good for structural compliance.
The pub’s manager Chris Ball said: “We are delighted that we have gained the top rating and I’m sure our customers will welcome the news too.
“Standards of hygiene at the pub are of paramount importance.”
He added: “All of the staff work hard to ensure that the pub offers its customers the highest levels of hygiene at all times and we are delighted that our efforts have been recognised with the five-star rating.”
