Hundreds of people are expected to take part in a muddy Race for Life event this weekend.

Crowds will flock to Lydiard Park to tackle a Pretty Muddy 5km obstacle course with mud pits and inflatable slides on Saturday.

The money raised will help save lives by funding scientists’ research into new ways to prevent, diagnose, and treat cancer.

The fun will begin with a group warm up with energetic activities and aerobics starting at 10.45am on Saturday, May 4, with many participants expected to be dressed up in a variety of costumes.

From 12pm onwards, children who are at least 1.2 metres tall and aged 12 and under will have a go at a kids’ version of the challenge, which includes a mud pit, space hoppers and an inflatable slide.

At 1pm, anyone aged 13 or over will then get the chance to tackle the Pretty Muddy obstacle course, with groups of around 200 people setting off every 15 minutes.

Around 1,500 people are set to walk, jog or run the 3km, 5km,10km and Pretty Muddy Race for Life events to raise funds for lifesaving research in the coming days.

Entries are still open for Race for Life events across Wiltshire.   To enter, visit the website www.raceforlife.org or call 0300 123 0770.
