The following cases were heard at Swindon Magistrates Court earlier this week.
SWINDON: Alpha Promotions UK, of Middle Common in Kington Langley, has been sentenced for an offence.
No representative for the company appeared at court but magistrates found the defendant guilty in its absence of failing to give information about the driver of a Tesla to police when required as part of an investigation into whether the motorist had committed an offence in Swindon after November 3, 2023.
The company has been fined £1,000 and ordered to pay £90 in court costs as well as £400 to fund victim services.
KINGSHILL: Allyson Wender, of Birch Street, has been sentenced for driving offences.
The 23-year-old was found guilty in her absence of driving a Vauxhall Astra along Moredon Road without due care and attention without a licence or insurance on November 10, 2023.
He received six penalty points on his driving licence and must pay fines totalling £1,100 as well as £90 in court costs plus £440 to fund victim services.
PENHILL: Dara Finnegan, of Burbage Road, has been sentenced for assault by beating.
The 34-year-old pleaded guilty to hitting a man in Fleet Street on April 14, 2024.
The defendant received a community order that requires him to carry out 100 hours of unpaid work and pay £85 in court costs plus £114 to fund victim services.
SWINDON: Leonard Tetterfio, of Greenwood Place, has been sentenced for two offences.
The 26-year-old pleaded guilty to possessing a quantity of cannabis in Swindon on April 10, 2024, and assaulting a man on April 14.
He has been fined £60 and ordered to carry out 100 hours of unpaid work.
The Class B drug has been forfeited and destroyed.
LIDEN: David Simpkins, of Barn Moor Close, has been sentenced for racially aggravated intentional harassment.
The 63-year-old indicated a plea of guilty to using abusive or threatening words or behaviour to cause someone distress in Swindon on January 12, 2024.
He has been fined £200 and ordered to pay £85 in court costs plus £80 to fund victim services.
RODBOURNE: Caroline Keegan, of Fire Fly Avenue, has been sentenced for assault by beating of an emergency worker.
The 50-year-old indicated a plea of guilty to hitting a female designated detention officer in Swindon on March 21, 2024.
She must pay £50 in compensation as well as a £200 fine and £85 in court costs plus £80 to fund victim services.
SWINDON: Jakub Szymanski, of Northbourne Road, has been sentenced for two driving offences.
The 29-year-old drove a Mercedes Sprinter along Drakes Way on July 18, 2023, while using a handheld mobile phone and when the vehicle, which was constructed or adapted to carry no more than eight seated passengers in addition to the driver, had grooves on the tread pattern of the tyre fitted to the rear near-side wheel that were not of a depth of at least 1.6mm.
He has been banned from driving for six months, fined £107, and ordered to pay £90 in court costs plus £43 to fund victim services.
MOTORWAY: Thusitharan Shanmugarajah, of Derby Road in Gloucester, has been sentenced for speeding.
The 34-year-old drove a Land Rover Discovery along the M4 near Swindon at more than 70mph on July 29, 2023.
He received a £307 fine and six penalty points on his driving licence, and must also pay £90 in court costs plus £123 to fund victim services.
WILTSHIRE: Christopher Newth, of West End in Foxham, has been sentenced for speeding.
The 31-year-old drove a BMW M3 Alpine along the B4069 at Christian Malford at more than 30mph on November 21, 2023.
He received a £440 fine and six penalty points on his driving licence, and must also pay £90 in court costs plus £176 to fund victim services.
