A pedestrian may have suffered “serious injuries” after being hit by a car on a busy Swindon road.
Police are searching for a man in his 50s who reportedly stepped in front of a car, near the roundabout between Drakes Way and Queens Drive, shortly before 2pm on Friday, May 3.
The man damaged the windscreen in the crash and police fear he may have sustained significant injuries before leaving the scene.
Officers are concerned for the man’s welfare and are now attempting to locate him.
He was described as wearing a dark jacket and possibly jeans.
Police warned he may be in shock and as a result, could appear confused or upset.
He may also show signs of obvious injury.
Anybody with any information has been urged to call 999 urgently.
A spokesperson for the force said: “We are urgently appealing for information about a member of the public who has been struck by a car in Swindon and left the scene.
“We are very concerned for his welfare.
“Anyone with information is asked to urgently call us on 999 quoting log 143 of today’s date (May 3).”
