A new music festival that was set to take over Old Town’s Town Gardens has been cancelled.
Last month, the line-up was announced for Roll Up Roll Up Festival, with the “quirky” gig scheduled to take place at the Town Gardens Bowl and Bandstand on Saturday, May 4.
The event promised a diverse line-up of talented musicians from around Swindon, as well as food, arts, crafts, and artisan stalls.
But just days before the big weekend, festival director Julian Hogan took to social media to confirm it had been cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances.
It is hoped the festival will take place at a later date.
Mr Hogan said: “I am writing to inform you with deep regret that we have had to cancel the upcoming event Roll Up Roll Up Festival, scheduled for Saturday, May 4, 2024.
“Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, we were left with no choice but to make this difficult decision.
“We understand the inconvenience this may cause, and we sincerely apologise for any disappointment.
“We will be working diligently to reschedule the event in the near future and will keep you updated on any developments. Thank you for your understanding.”
