One of Wiltshire’s “most photographed homes” is up for sale for £1.6 million.

The Bridge House sits on The Street in Castle Combe, just over the iconic bridge captured by countless tourists and photographers each year.

Castle Combe has been regularly lauded by national media as one of the most picturesque villages in Wiltshire and the UK, with the familiar shot of the bridge and surrounding houses used to back up these claims.

Now the prominent Grade II listed Bridge House has been put on the market for a guide price of £1.6 million.

Estate agents James Pyle & Co said: “The Bridge House is located on one of Castle Combe's most iconic streets and is probably one of the most photographed homes in the Cotswolds.”

The property dates back to the 1600s but has undergone several “modern upgrades”, including the installation of underfloor heating.

Inside the house is an open-plan kitchen with an oil-fired Aga, a living room equipped with a stone fireplace, and three bedrooms.

To the rear of the home is a large garden with outbuildings, described as a “private haven” overlooking a “picturesque” wooded valley.

Castle Combe is one of Wiltshire’s busiest tourist hotspots and was featured as a filming location in big-screen productions like War Horse and Dr Dolittle.
