The driver of a blue BMW crashed and completely wiped out a bus stop in an incident that sparked an emergency services response in Swindon.
The bus stop on Dunwich Drive in Toothill was flattened by the crashed vehicle, which ended up on its roof at around 4pm.
It is understood that the driver was able to escape the wreckage and fled the scene, leading to a large police response and a manhunt in the area.
Witnesses described seeing firearms officers in attendance following the crash, as well as police officers deploying a drone to search the nearby area.
Samuel Robbins lives nearby, and he was able to capture some images of the devastation left behind, sharing his amazement that no-one appeared to have been hurt.
"The bus stop pole is through the car. The roof wasn't crumpled. A very lucky person."
"I know my five-year-old saw it," he said, "And she saw the police and drone, she came home with my eldest and she was so scared and shaking."
It is not yet clear if anyone was hurt, but it is believed that no one was waiting at the bus stop at the time of the incident.
