A Swindon baker has created a special limited-edition doughnut to coincide with National Doughnut Week.
Pipp and Co in Kembrey Business Park has teamed up with Henny & Joe’s to make a chai-flavoured cinnamon-filled sweet treat that will be on sale from May 18.
If it proves popular enough, the latest addition to the menu may become a regular part of the range.
Each week, Pipp & Co bakes around 20,000 doughnuts which are all made from natural ingredients with no additives or preservatives. The new creation will be available at the farmers’ markets Pipp & Co visit as well as its online store www.pipp.co Betina and Mario Evangelista run the business.
Betina said: “We reached out to Henny & Joe’s because we love the chai products they make and we wanted to create a special doughnut for National Doughnut Week.
“They have the same ethos as we do, producing a quality product using only natural ingredients. We thought a chai flavoured, filled doughnut would be a great addition to our range.”
At the end of National Doughnut Week, the bakers will make a donation to The Children’s Trust, which supports children with brain injuries.
