The trial of a woman accused of killing Swindon teenager Harry Parker in a suspected hit-and-run has been set.

Ivy Mwangi, 52, from North Swindon, has been charged with causing death by careless driving, driving without insurance and driving without a licence.

Harry, 14,  died from injuries he received at Akers Way after being hit by a car that then left the scene while he was on his way to school on November 25, 2022.

At a hearing in Swindon Crown Court on May 17, a trial date was set for February 24 next year.

Swindon Advertiser: Mwangi pleaded not guilty to causing death by careless driving at Swindon Magistrates' Court earlier this year.

At the hearing on Friday, Mwangi pleaded guilty to driving without a licence but did not enter a plea for the other two charges.

Instead, a review hearing date has been set for June 27, to allow the defence team to further look at insurance paperwork and discuss the more serious charge, where it is believed Mwangi will be arraigned on the other two charges.

Mwangi has now been released on unconditional bail until the June hearing.
