An Indian tapas and cocktail bar has opened in Old Town.
The venture, Tikka Tikka, has replaced the former Coral betting shop on Victoria Road and enjoyed its grand opening on May 16.
Director of Kutting Chai - Bombay Street Food, in Regent Circus, Aldred Rodrigues, is the person behind the new destination for diners.
The business owner confirmed to the Adver in December 2023 when plans were put forward that the restaurant would not be another Kutting Chai but instead 'something different'.
And Tikka Tikka has delivered on that promise, offering Indian tapas and cocktails.
The restaurant and bar's website said: "Welcome to Tikka Tikka, your new favourite Indian restaurant located in Swindon. Our chefs provide authentic Indian tapas & main dishes with a modern twist. Order online or book a table and experience our brand-new restaurant.
"Our stylish new Old Town restaurant serves the best Indian tapas around, with authentic flavours, delicate spices & only the freshest of ingredients. We are open for lunch & dinner.
"Our fully stocked bar and extensive cocktail menu make Tikka Tikka a great place to start your evening. Let our talented bar staff mix you with a fabulous cocktail whilst you graze on some delicious Indian tapas."
Its menu includes half plates, flame-grilled dishes, clay pot biryanis, authentic curry bowls, and breads and sides.
It lists its best sellers as Burrata Butter Chicken, which is described as a charcoal-roasted chicken tikka with makhani sauce, topped with burrata cheese.
Garlic naan, Dahi kebab, which are 'melt in the mouth' mini-kebabs and paneer stuffed mushrooms are also listed as popular choices.
Plans indicate that the restaurant has created six full-time and three part-time jobs.
Although Tikka Tikka is in its infancy, locals still to give it a try can anticipate good things as it is being run by an award-winning director.
Sister business Kutting Thai won the MTM Good Food Award in 2020 and was a finalist for the MTM Best Restaurant Award in the same year.
In 2022, the business also won a Trip Advisor Travelers Choice award for best restaurant.
Tikka Tikka does not open on Mondays, but is open from Tuesday to Sunday, first for lunch between 11am and 2.30pm and then for dinner from 5.30pm to 11pm.
