A busy Swindon road is set to be hit by closures across a number of days so railway bridge inspections can be carried out.
A public notice has advertised a Traffic Regulation Order (TRO) for Rodbourne Road lasting 18 months.
The work is expected to take place from June 10 to June 14, and will see Network Rail closely looking at the condition of the bridge near Dean Street that can be found along that road throughout the night.
The TRO said: "This order is being introduced to allow Network Rail carry out abridge inspection and will prohibit vehicles from proceeding on Rodbourne Road at the railway bridge situated between Dean Street and Penzance Drive.
"Traffic to be diverted via B4289 Westcott Place, A3102 Wootton Bassett Road to Mannington Roundabout, B4006 Great Western Way to the Meads Roundabout, B4006 Great Western Way to Bruce Street,-Kemble Drive and vice versa.
The TRO does hint that the dates between June 10 and 14 could be only the first of many phases of closure.
It adds: "The order comes into force on June 10, 2024 for 18 months but it is expected the closure will be phased with the first closure to carry out inspection works to take place between June 10 to 14, 2024."
