Staff at the Great Western Hospital have been boosted by a donation of snacks and food boxes.
Charity Rapid Relief Team showed its support by donating 100 'frontline snack packs' and 10 food boxes at the Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust's 'You Are Important' event.
Designed for emergency workers on the go, these relief packs include face towelettes, crisps, cheese and crackers, and fruit cups.
The event aimed to offer wellbeing, cost-of-living, mental health, and family support to Great Western Hospital's nurses, community therapists, HR and IT staff.
Previously, Rapid Relief Team has donated food boxes to families facing financial difficulties over the holiday period who were receiving treatment at the Great Western Hospital.
One nurse at the event said: "Your team have been outstanding again in coming and supporting us with incredible frontline packs to be distributed to a lot of our colleagues.
"It’s been a fantastic day and thank you again for your support - it’s meant so much for us."
Sarah Baily, community staff nurse at the Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, said: "I could not be more grateful for the Rapid Relief Team’s helping hand and the relief packs and food boxes received.
"These have been great in both supporting our amazing staff, as well as our patients.
“We have recently had a patient who was discharged from hospital and whose family were not able to do their shopping for them, so it was incredibly helpful for us to be able to give them the Rapid Relief Team food box to ensure they had nutritious food at home.”
Rapid Relief Team is made up of volunteers from the Plymouth Brethren Christian Church.
The charity offers practical help to various other charities, emergency services and other supportive organisations across the UK and globally.
Laurie Pomeroy, Rapid Relief Team Swindon team leader, added: "We were glad to be able to show our thanks and appreciation for the incredible staff at the Great Western Hospital by attending the 'You Are Important’ event.
"It was inspiring to see our team of volunteers donating our signature frontline packs and food boxes, and letting the staff know that we are always here to help.
"As a charity dedicated to putting compassion into action, it is fantastic to see the positive impact that our support has had on emergency workers, as well as on the vulnerable members of our communities who they support."
