A variety of cultures and cuisines will be showcased at an annual international food fair in Swindon next month.
The charity Connecting Communities will bring 14 nationalities together for visitors to enjoy tasty treats, including vegan and vegetarian options, and entertainment like face-painting and henna.
It will be held at the Steam Museum on Saturday, June 29 from 11:30am to 4pm and the event is free, but donations are encouraged.
Chair of Connecting Communities Tajwar Hassan said: “The event brings more than 1,000 people together and people get authentic home-cooked food, which is something everyone can enjoy. We raise money for local and international charities and it’s important because it helps to educate both children and adults about inclusivity.
“We can really see the benefits. It’s also a good opportunity for refugees to feel a part of our community because they get to run some of our stalls. It helps to integrate them into our society and gives them the chance to give back.”
The international food fair has previously raised money for charities like Swindon Mind and Brighter Futures, but one of the charities they are raising funds for this year is Julia’s House, a children’s hospice in Devizes.
