A hair salon in Stratton is celebrating its first anniversary.

Last May, two friends with a lifelong love of hairdressing and more than 20 years of experience set up a new salon together in Swindon.

Grace Green and Kelly Styles opened The Hair Lounge on 502 Cricklade Road, near the Moonrakers junction, and looked forward to becoming their own bosses after renting chairs for years.

An opening day hosted while the finishing touches were being added gave eager visitors the chance to have a look around before the official first day of business.

Since then, the pair have welcomed many more customers into their busy styling studio and are now looking forward to the years ahead.

Grace said: "We've had a fantastic year in our new salon.

"We have had lots of positive feedback from our clients on how nice and spacious our new salon is.

"We have gained lots of new clientele since being here and they have similarly said how lovely our salon is.

"This year, we will be welcoming a new member of staff to our team, which is really exciting.

"And we all look forward to our future at The Hair Lounge."
