Passengers heading into town from Swindon Railway Station could be met by the smell of delicious pizza thanks to the opening of a new takeaway restaurant nearby.
The Fat Pizza celebrated its grand opening in Swindon on Wednesday, May 22, with the customary balloon arch and a person in a cheesy pizza slice costume.
The company has a number of stores elsewhere in the country but has eyed up a location on Station Road for its latest offering, owned by Rahees and Reema.
The two owners joined Ripu and Chloe from the firm's head office and employees Rahul and Prabhjot on the opening day which they said was a 'great and busy day.'.
"The Fat Pizza is known for our biggest pizzas around," they said.
"We do 24" Pizzas which are 2 feet long. Each slice is one foot long and it has 16 slices of pizzas in it...
"The pizzas are so big that they do get stuck in customers' doors."
The recipe for the pizzas is a family one passed from store to store, and all pizzas are made from fresh dough.
"We do not just do pizzas. We do gourmet burgers, milkshakes, cookie dough, waffles, milkshakes and a lot more."
Customers can also download The Fat Pizza app to get a free regular pizza with their first app order, and earn points which can be spent on rewards.
