A Swindon man faces trial for strangling a woman.
Lucien George Douglas, 38, of Greenfields South Marston stood accused of a number of charges during a Swindon Crown Court hearing that was held in Bristol, because of the local court's recent fire.
He stood accused of intentionally strangling a woman and criminal damage to property valued over £5,000 during an incident on November 25 last year, and common assault of the same woman the day after.
He also faced a charge of engaging in controlling and/or coercive behaviour in an intimate/family relationship between September 2021 and November 27, 2023.
During this time he caused a woman to fear that violence would be used against her on two occasions.
Douglas denied all four of these charges at the hearing earlier this month and will now stand trial in November.
