A windows and doors company headquartered in Swindon has to be out of its current home imminently.

Garden of Eden is based on The Island, Edison Road, but is in the process of being transferred to a different location by the end of the week.

The business, which is also known for its cane furniture, will soon be operating from Dorcan 200 on Murdock Road instead.

Helen, one of the directors at Garden of Eden, said: "It has been a gradual process, which we're halfway through at the moment.

"The factory has moved and the showroom will be moved by the end of [this] week, and we're all working hard towards that."

Helen explained that the company was moving to a smaller premises nearby because it intended to become more specialised in its focus.

"We wanted to downsize – it’s a large building and going forward we want to specialise more rather than doing everything that there is like we do at the moment.

"Also, bigger buildings take a lot of upkeep and we don’t need the space that we’ve got here, so we just need a smaller place to run it from.

Helen added that once the move is complete, it will take the company time to catch up and deliver their existing orders to customers, but she expects things will get properly off the ground in roughly six weeks.
