A surprised Swindon shopper spotted a famous face while browsing the aisles.

Over the bank holiday weekend, a visitor to the Waitrose in Wichelstowe saw singer LeAnn Rimes.

She told the Adver: "At first I didn’t believe it, but after hearing that she’s been staying in the Cotswolds while she films The Voice UK, I thought it could actually be her.

"Later on, I looked at the singer's Instagram and she’d uploaded a story of her vlogging while shopping for crisps in Waitrose!"

The Instagram story has since been updated with a more recent reel, though screencaps shared by the eagle-eyed shopper show the country singer praising her "favourite aisle" of the supermarket.

The Hall and Woodhouse pub and restaurant can be seen in the background, through the windows of the superstore.

LeAnn will appear in the latest series of the ITV singing competition alongside fellow judges Tom Jones, Will.i.am, and McFly members Danny Jones and Tom Fletcher.

The American singer-songwriter has placed over 40 singles on international charts and sold over 48 million records worldwide since 1996, when she first rose to success as a 13-year-old with the song Blue, and is perhaps best known for the number one hit Can't Fight the Moonlight from the film Coyote Ugly.
