A Swindon salon has just reopened after moving to a new location in the town centre.

The Aqua-G Hair and Beauty Salon opened in 2004 and its talented team spent 17 years styling customers in the Brunel Shopping Centre.

Earlier this year, the staff announced that they had found a new home for the business and were preparing for a big relocation effort.

Over the bank holiday, the salon officially reopened in 104 Commercial Road, which is near the turn to the Granville Road car park, used to be Mylo's Desserts, and is just a five minute walk from their old Brunel base.

Owner Inna Gawron said: "After a long and unforgettable happy 17 years in Brunel Shopping Centre, we are so sad but at the same time, so excited to start our new journey in our home on Commercial Road.

"I always had a vision for Aqua-G to be a one-stop place for hair, beauty, nails, aesthetic and laser hair removal.

"Every year the salon becomes stronger and delivers more and more treatments to to our customers.

"Without a great and strong team and without our best and loyal customers, my dream will never come true, so a big thank you to everyone or the support and loyalty.

"We are so happy and excited that after many years of renting a unit, we managed to buy our own premises, Aqua-G 's home forever.

"A lot of hard work was done. We're so lucky to build the friendliest team ever and the most loyal client base.

"We hope that our new salon will meet all aspects for our clients' needs and we will work even harder to make everyone happy.

"I would like to say a massive thank you again to all our customers, my family and friends for your support, as well as to interior designer Anna Kotanska from Omega Property Experts and RC Construction for their hard work."

The decision to move was made after being told that the Brunel centre was being redeveloped.

In October 2019, the shopping centre's owners FI Real Estate Management submitted plans to build towers on part of the centre.

Some shops, such as Jungle Mania, were told that their leases would not be renewed in the redevelopment area.

Last year, Boswell moved from the Brunel to a two-storey Regent Street site.

Buzz Gym is one of the few businesses remaining in that section of the shopping centre.
