A teenager was violently assaulted while walking in the woods in Swindon, sparking a police appeal.
On Thursday, May 23 just after 7pm, a teenage boy (who has not been named), was walking with his friend in Croft Woods, near to the Intel Building on Pipers Way just after 7pm.
The teen was struck unexpectedly in the back of his head and then assaulted again with a glass bottle, causing a deep cut to his face.
The violent assault left the teenager with lacerations on his face, and he now requires surgery as a result.
"A 16-year-old boy has now been arrested on suspicion of GBH with intent and has been released on bail," said a spokesperson for Wiltshire Police.
"However, we are appealing for witnesses following the assault in Croft Woods.
