A Chinese takeaway that has fed the people of Swindon for more than four decades will be closing its doors.
Connie's Cantonese Restaurant on Devizes Road will only remain open for a few more weeks, with its owners issuing a heartfelt statement to its customers thanking them 'for the memories'.
In a post on the restaurant's social media page, a spokesperson for the business explained it was not an easy decision for them to call it quits, but it was one they were making nonetheless.
The last time anyone can sit down for a meal inside the building will be June 15, but the restaurant will still be delivering takeaway meals to local homes until June 22.
They said: "Dear Beloved Customers, as we bid farewell to Connie’s after 42 remarkable years of serving our community, we want to take a moment to express our deepest gratitude to each and every one of you.
"Your unwavering support, loyalty, and enthusiasm for our cuisine have been the driving force behind our success and the source of countless cherished memories. From family dinners to celebrations and everything in between, you have entrusted us with your most precious moments, and for that, we are profoundly grateful.
"Throughout the years, we have been blessed to witness friendships form, traditions take root, and smiles light up our dining room. Your support has not only sustained us but has also enriched our lives in ways we could have never imagined."
"As we reflect on the countless meals shared and stories exchanged, we are reminded of the incredible journey we have embarked upon as a family restaurant. Each dish has been served with love, crafted with care and infused with the flavours of tradition and heritage passed down."
They added: "While the decision to close our doors was not an easy one, we find solace in the memories we've created and the relationships we've forged along the way. Though this chapter may be coming to an end, the impact you've had on our lives will endure forever.
"From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you for allowing us to be a part of your lives and for making Connie’s a successful place to visit and eat where memories were made and friendships flourished."
"Each of your support has been the greatest gift we could have ever received, and we will carry the warmth of your kindness with us always."
