A pub and restaurant near a picturesque park has been serving Swindonians for more than sixty years.

The Spotted Cow in Coate is still going strong after decades of filling customers' bellies and pint glasses.

The oldest image of the Hungry Horse-owned venue on Marlborough Road in the Adver's archive dates back to September 1961.

Near the end of the 20th century, we highlighted the expansive adventure playground round the back of the building in August 1992.

More recently, Zoe Clifford received the honour being this newspaper's Barmaid of the Week in July 2003, and in the same year, landlord Sharon Bell sought a new chef, then a visit for a food review impressed our reporters in April 2006.
