The following cases were heard at Swindon Magistrates' Court in late May.
PINEHURST: Mark Wheeler, of Spindle Tree Court, has been sentenced for sending an offensive, indecent, obscene, or menacing message.
The 46-year-old pleaded guilty to sending an offensive video on Facebook to someone on April 13, 2023, and the offence was racially aggravated.
He received a community order that requires him to carry out six months of alcohol and mental health treatment sessions with Turning Point, pay £200 in compensation, and carry out up to 20 rehabilitation activity days.
WALCOT: Nigel Harris, of Lennox Drive, has been sentenced for common assault of an emergency worker.
The 44-year-old indicated a plea of guilty to hitting a male police constable in Swindon on May 3, 2024.
He received a fine of £666 and must also pay £85 in court costs.
HIGHWORTH: Dustin Kwiecien, of Quarry View in Southrop, has been sentenced for a driving-related offence.
The 40-year-old pleaded guilty to failing to provide a specimen of breath to police for analysis in Highworth on April 24, 2024, in the course of an investigation into whether he had committed an offence.
He received 10 penalty points on his driving licence and a £200 fine, and must also pay £85 in court costs plus £80 to fund victim services.
MOTORWAY: Fedir Yevtushok, of Clos Y Bigney in Fishguard, has been sentenced for speeding.
The 46-year-old pleaded guilty to driving a Kawasaki ZZR 1400 along the M4 near Swindon at more than 70mph on August 14, 2023.
He received six penalty points on his driving licence and a £120 fine, and must also pay£90 in court costs plus £48 to fund victim services.
ROYAL WOOTTON BASSETT: Kate Chapman, of Downs View, has been sentenced for two offences.
The 56-year-old pleaded guilty to causing criminal damage to a £14.50 Wiltshire Police Code of Practice book while in custody on October 24, 2023, and persistently making use of a public electronic communications network in a racially aggravated manner for the purpose of causing annoyance, inconvenience or needless anxiety to another between September 16 and October 25, 2023.
She must pay £14.50 in compensation along with a £200 fine, £85 in court costs, and £80 for victim services.
OGBOURNE ST GEORGE: Caroline Sturdy, of Elston Lane in Shrewton, has been sentenced for driving without due care and attention.
The 83-year-old committed the offence in a Nissan Almera on the A346 on December 18, 2023.
She received six penalty points on her driving licence along with an £80 fine, and must also pay £90 in court costs and £32 to fund victim services.
DEVIZES: Thomas Brailey, of Bridewell Street, has been sentenced for theft from a shop.
The 27-year-old pleaded guilty to stealing meat worth £50.19 from Marks and Spencer on May 26, 2024.
He must pay £25.10 in compensation.
TROWBRIDGE: Nicholas Gadd, of Swan Drive in Staverton, has been sentenced for two counts of theft from a shop.
The 48-year-old indicated pleas of guilty to taking goods worth £204.50 from the Trowbridge Sainsbury’s on March 20, 2024, and stealing items worth £178.34 from the town’s Co-op on April 28, 2024.
He must carry out 80 extra hours of unpaid work and pay a total of £192 in compensation.
WARMINSTER: Francy Joyce, of Rose Meadow View in Ashton, Bristol, has been sentenced for theft from a shop.
The 43-year-old indicated a plea of guilty to stealing clothing and bedding worth £210 from Sports Direct with another person on May 23, 2024.
He has been fined £100 and ordered to pay £40 towards funding victim services.
