A cinema in Swindon has launched a weekly film screening aimed at providing a quieter experience for babies and young children and a place for parents to socialise.
Cineworld Swindon Shaw Ridge has introduced ‘Cinebabies’ - an event on Wednesday mornings at 11am for young families to enjoy together, with films confirmed on a weekly basis.
The films will be shown with dimmed lighting, quieter sound and space to store pushchairs safely, as well as two baby changing stations, specifically aimed at families with children under 18 months.
Cineworld said on Facebook: “This is aimed at growing a community for new parents and young families as a place to chat, mingle and enjoy the latest films without any hassle or stress with your little ones.”
The films are all rated 12A and below and tickets start from £6.99, which includes complimentary hot drinks and biscuits.
Babies go free and there is no maximum age limit, however parents with children older than 18 months will need to purchase a child ticket.
The next showing will be on Wednesday, June 5 of the live-action animated comedy IF, which is about a young girl and her neighbour who can see their imaginary friends.
