Three people are in custody suspected of causing grievous bodily harm following the stabbing of a 16-year-old boy.

Police officers and paramedics responded to 999 calls from the New Road area of Royal Wootton Bassett just before 9.30pm on Monday evening.

An air ambulance landed at the scene and took the teenage stabbing victim to hospital for treatment.

His injuries are believed to be serious but police say they have not described as life-changing or life-threatening.

A Wiltshire Police spokesperson added: "Three males have been arrested on suspicion of GBH and enquiries are currently ongoing.

"We are urgently appealing for witnesses after a male was stabbed in Royal Wootton Bassett.

"Anyone with information about the incident should call 101 and quote log number 357 of June 3."
