Pictures of a village pub and “community hub” near Swindon show the progress of the work.

They also give a clue of what the final establishment could be like once complete.

The Patriot’s Arms in Chiseldon is open seven days a week for drinks but the managers hope to open for food in two to three months.

The food offering will only start once work is complete, including fitting a “quiet dining area” to one side.

The managers say that the community have been supportive, contributing to the “kids park fund”.
