A serious assault in Swindon has sparked a police appeal for witnesses.
On Tuesday, May 14 at around 7.45pm, a man was reportedly punched in the side of the face in Fleet Street before being chased with an axe.
The suspect then left the scene in a car.
A man in his 30s was arrested on suspicion of affray, common assault and possessing an offensive weapon in a public place, but he has been released on bail.
Police officers are appealing for people who saw the incident and can help with their enquiries to contact them on 101, quoting reference number 54240055707.
