The opening date for Swindon's new Superdrug has been confirmed.
The retailer has set up shop inside the old Wilko unit at Greenbridge Retail Park and will welcome its first customers on Monday, June 10.
With 8,600 square feet of space, the latest addition to the site is the chain's biggest branch in the local area and will be staffed by a team of 30 full-time employees.
Along with plenty of fully-stocked shelves and a dedicated perfume section, the building has enough space to feature a Beauty Studio area where visitors can have various treatments during their visit.
This comes as the health and beauty specialist aims to expand its brick-and-mortar retail footprint by opening 25 new stores by the end of 2024 to mark its 60th anniversary.
An approved planning application to change an empty unit at the Orbital Shopping Park had previously indicated that Superdrug might move into the former Sports Direct there, but the opening of this Greenbridge branch suggests that the company's plans changed course.
The new store will offer customers access to the latest health and beauty products, everyday toiletries, beauty treatments, and luxury fragrances such as Superdrug’s own-brand cosmetics range Studio London as well as other popular ranges including B. Skin, Me+, Vitamin E, Optimum and Naturally Radiant.
The retailer boasts of offering a competitive array of exclusive beauty and personal care brands with products from the likes of Relove by Revolution and MUA, as well as trending brands including Morphe 2 and Avon.
Shoppers can find their go-to scent at the store’s new fragrance counter, which includes promotions on perfume and aftershave by premium brands such as YSL, Viktor & Rolf, Giorgio Armani, Prada and Valentino.
The Greenbridge store's Beauty Studio area allows shoppers to access professional treatments at affordable prices. Within Beauty Studio, customers will have access to eyebrow, nail, and piercing services.
Superdrug property director Nigel Duxbury said: “We are delighted to be opening a new store in Swindon’s Greenbridge Retail Park.
"We are confident that local customers will love and welcome the new store, as it offers a wide range of popular health and beauty brands, a luxury fragrance counter, and a professional Beauty Studio.”
Shoppers will also have the chance to sign up to Superdrug’s Health and Beautycard and VIP Rewards schemes to collect points to redeem on future purchases.
