Ever dreamed of having a swimming pool in your house?
With this property that dream can be a reality - though maybe not in the way you might expect.
Uplands Stables is a “renowned” racing yard, with “state of the art” facilities for horses, and some “comfortable” accommodation for their owners too.
This includes an “equine pool”, perfect for those hydrophilic horses to practice their backstroke.
This is not just any racing yard. Seller Keller Williams says: “The site is steeped in racing history, most notably as the base of legendary National Hunt trainer Fred Winter, who was champion jump trainer on eight occasions.”
It is located 30 minutes away from Swindon in Upper Lambourn, “just minutes from the Jockey Club Gallops”.
The horse pool inside a brick-built barn has been recently renovated. Also in the barn are two large five-bay horse walkers with heat lamps, maybe to help your steed dry off after their dip.
The property has 35 “picturesque” stables in total, “providing an ideal environment for the training of racehorses”.
However, this is not just a place for horses, with a four-bedroom trainers cottage, a staff hostel and a separate one-bedroom apartment all for two-legged animals.
Keller Williams says: “The trainers cottage is a comfortable, contemporary and well presented four bedroom home.
“A spacious open plan kitchen and reception room is the heart of the home, with underfloor heating, built in appliances, island unit and bifold glass doors to a charming terrace with views over the stables and fields.”
There are also a couple of Christmas trees throughout the cottage, although the seller does not say if these are a permanent fixture.
Outside in a barbecue area and decking with tables and chairs.
Three double bedrooms are found on the ground floor, along with a shower room. On the first floor is a “large” master bedroom with built-in storage and an en suite bathroom.
The hostel provides four double bedrooms, each with an en suite shower or bathroom, plus a kitchen and dining room.
Lastly, a separate self-contained apartment off the hostel has one double bedroom with en suite, and a kitchen/dining room.
Upper Lambourn itself is “renowned as one of Britain's prime racing centres, set in beautiful countryside within easy reach of London”.
This property recently had £50,000 knocked off to bring it to £1,250,000.
