A car has been seized after police snared speeding drivers on one of Swindon’s busiest roads.
Special Constables from Wiltshire Police were part of a road safety team that carried out speed checks on Great Western Way, on the night of Wednesday, June 5.
A number of drivers were clocked speeding in the 30mph zone and have subsequently been punished.
One driver was stopped by officers after being recorded travelling at 46mph along the route.
After further checks were carried out, police found the driver did not have a full licence and their Vauxhall car was seized.
They have been reported to court.
Another driver was also stopped after their Audi TT was reportedly clocked at a whopping 52mph on the same road.
Officers pursued and stopped the vehicle, and the driver was reported to court.
Speeding is one of the “fatal five” offences Wiltshire Police has been cracking down on over the last year in a bid to improve road safety throughout the county.
