The following cases have been heard at Swindon Magistrates Court in June.

TOWN CENTRE: Kayleigh Nicholls, of Henry Street, has been sentenced for several assaults by beating of emergency workers.

The 28-year-old indicated pleas of guilty to hitting four female police constables in Swindon - two on March 25, 2024, a third on May 20, and a fourth on May 21 – as well as two male police constables on May 22.

She received an eight-week prison sentence that has been suspended for 12 months because of the seriousness of the offences and because the defendant has a flagrant disregard for people and their property, and must pay £154 to fund victim services.

PARK SOUTH: Phillip O’Driscoll, of Thornbridge Avenue, has been sentenced for drunk driving.

The 57-year-old changed his plea to guilty regarding a charge of driving a Skoda Octavia along Marlborough Road in Chiseldon on October 2, 2023, after consuming so much alcohol that the proportion of it in his breath, namely 85 millograms exceeded the prescribed limit.

He has been banned from driving for three years, fined £300, and ordered to pay £250 in court costs plus £124 to fund victim services.

TOOTHILL: Samantha Baker, of Ely Close, has been sentenced for criminal damage.

The 32-year-old pleaded guilty to damaging the front door of a man's property in Swindon on February 2, 2024.

She must pay a £40 fine as well as £85 in court costs plus £16 to fund victim services.

PARK NORTH: Haile Anderson, of Banwell Avenue, has been sentenced for possession of a Class A drug. The 45-year-old indicated a plea of guilty to having cocaine in Swindon on March 26, 2024.

The defendant must pay a fine of £120 as well as £85 in court costs plus £48 to fund victim services, and have the illegal substance forfeited and destroyed.

SWINDON: A 15-year-old boy, who cannot be identified due to his age, has been sentenced for causing actual bodily harm.

The defendant pleaded guilty to assaulting two male victims in Swindon on July 24, 2023.

He must pay £25 in compensation to each victim and be referred to a youth offender panel for 12 months.

SWINDON: Kyle Volson, of Bromyard Avenue in Acton, has been sentenced for drug driving.

The 25-year-old pleaded guilty to driving along Junction 16 of the M4 on November 25, 2023, when the proportion of a controlled drug, namely Delta-9-Tetrahydrocannabinol, in his blood - 11 micrograms of drug per litre of blood - exceeded the specified limit.

He has been banned from driving for 12 months, fined £400, and ordered to pay £85 in court costs plus £160 to fund victim services.

CHIPPENHAM: Ann Jefferies, of The Butts, has been sentenced for owning a dangerously out of control dog.

The 50-year-old pleaded guilty to having a Pattendale terrier called Digby who was out of control in Chippenham on May 4, 2023.

The defendant received an electronically-monitored curfew that requires her to stay at home between 10pm and 7am for three months, and comply with up to 10 rehabilitation activity days as well as pay £85 in court costs plus £114 to fund victim services.

Her dog must be destroyed because this offence breached a contingent destruction order made on May 4, 2021.
