One of Swindon's liveliest and most important streets has changed a lot over the years.
Victoria Road is the main artery that connects the Old Town to the town centre at the bottom of the hill.
Various shops and pubs have come and gone, though The Victoria is still standing tall and thriving at the top of the hill after all these years.
Even the Adver has moved out of its historic home where the printing press in the basement once rumbled with the effort of printing new daily editions (we're still in Swindon, though, now based in a Dorcan industrial estate opposite the big Morrisons).
These nostalgic images from the Adver's archive show how the businesses that run along the sides of the busy main road have changed, capture snapshots of vintage vehicles, and a glimpse of the view of Christ Church from a side-street that still impresses to this day.
