A 16-year-old boy who hid thousands of pounds and hard drugs in his mum’s garage has been sentenced.

The Swindon teen, who cannot be named for legal reasons, also had a black machete, hand-axe, large knife in a sheath and a BB gun seized.

He appeared at Bristol Crown Court on June 12, having committed drug dealing offences and possessing criminal property between January and April 2024.

In Swindon Magistrates' Court it was heard that the boy was staying with his mother when police searched the house.

They found drugs in an outhouse garage with an estimated street value of £50,000 and £9,000 in cash.

The boy pleaded guilty on April 30 to being concerned in the supply of cocaine, ecstasy, cannabis and ketamine, and possessing heroin and cocaine with intent to supply, and possessing criminal property, namely cash.

He was given a youth rehabilitation order lasting until December 12, 2025. 

This involves a three-month 7pm to 7am curfew, enforced by an electronic tag and an eight-day youth rehabilitation programme.

The weapons were seized and drugs, drug paraphernalia and mobile phones destroyed.

A total of £5,090 in cash was forfeited, with a £26 surcharge to be paid by the guardian in three months time.
