A competition to find Swindon's best aspiring DJs has been launched with the winner being invited to perform at a newly opened nightclub.

Levels Nightclub, next to The Rolleston Arms in Swindon, was reopened in June 2024 by new owners Charlotte, Craig and Carol.

Since reopening, the club has gone from strength to strength hosting punk nights and drum and bass legends.

But now Levels is joining up with Twitch Music Ltd to host the search for Swindon's best young DJ to perform at their highly anticipated Ibiza house music night on July 6.

To enter the competition, aspiring DJs are asked to record a mix that showcases their unique style and talent, and submit it to twitchmusicltd@gmail.com.

"This is an amazing opportunity for anyone who wants to boost their career as a DJ," said a spokesperson for Twitch Music.

"You must be 18 or over to enter and it would be great to see some female house DJs come through as well."

According to Ashley Brickell, founder of Twitch Music Ltd, this new competition will not only offer a chance in the spotlight for an aspiring DJ but is also an effort to revive Swindon's nightlife.

"Swindon's nightlife has faced significant challenges since the lockdown, with many promoters, clubs, and pubs struggling to thrive," explained Ashley.

"In response, Levels nightclub and I have been tirelessly working to offer something unique and invigorating for our community.

"Balearic Waves promises to reignite Swindon's nightlife scene with the vibrant and electrifying sounds of Ibiza house music.

"We are also offering an incredible opportunity for a young DJ to showcase their skills and perform alongside our headliners."

Levels nightclub, which was previously named Level 3, has been given a complete revival since couple Craig and Charlotte took it over with Craig's mum Carol.

"Where before it was mostly used for alternative rock and metal music, we're hoping to bring in a whole range of alternative music genres and events to keep the place alive," said Charlotte.

The winner of the young DJ competition who will perform in Levels will be announced on Friday 28th June and will join local DJ Dave Angel as well as Craig Knight, Joe DC and Ashley Brickell.

Earlybird tickets to attend the event are priced at £6 and general admission, which is yet to be released, will be priced at £7 with final release tickets costing £10.15.
