A man disqualified from driving was caught driving from McDonald’s in Swindon “really very drunk”.
Matthew Morris, 48, of Rodney Road, Bristol, pleaded guilty to four driving offences at Swindon Magistrates' Court on June 13.
These were driving without insurance, being disqualified, while drunk and having a fraudulent registration on the B4019, Blunsdon, Swindon on June 12 - the day before he appeared in court.
Adam Cooper, prosecuting, said officers were on patrol and were concerned about how Morris’ had parked his Land Rover Defender.
“He was really very drunk”, said Mr Cooper, with 127 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath - the legal limit being 35 micrograms.
“It is a very high reading," said Mr Cooper.
He had been seen on McDonald’s CCTV driving to collect food, which was still warm on the back seat.
Morris, wearing a white shirt open at the neck, had been banned from driving for two years less than a year ago for drink-driving.
The magistrate said: “These matters are so serious that we need a report on you first.”
The case was adjourned to June 19 while a pre-sentencing report was prepared, with Morris released on unconditional bail.
He was given an interim driving disqualification until June 19, meaning Morris cannot drive any vehicle on a public road.
