Over a dozen speeding drivers have been snared by police in Wiltshire with one allegedly clocked at nearly double the speed limit.
Officers from the Royal Wootton Bassett and Cricklade neighbourhood teams were deployed to the B4040, at the junction with Saxon Close, in Cricklade on Friday, June 14.
Throughout the morning they conducted speed checks and 15 drivers were caught exceeding the 30mph speed limit on the roads.
They have all been issued with notices of intended prosecution for excessive speeding.
The fastest vehicle recorded during the morning was reportedly travelling at 51mph.
One driver will now be summoned to court.
The remaining 14 drivers will be offered a speed awareness course, depending on their history and other factors.
A spokesperson for the force said: “Proceedings will now be undertaken to ensure the most appropriate outcome for the offenders takes place, which includes checking for MOT, insurance and point totters.
“Captured footage will be analysed for other offences like seat belts and mobile phone use.”
