A man who sent vile online messages to four different young girls has been jailed after previously escaping prison for a previous conviction.

Benjamin Jones, 26, currently of HMP Bullingdon, had previously been convicted of a child sex offence and given a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) but was back in court again this month.

At Bristol Crown Court, he faced four counts of engaging in sexual communication with a child, three counts of making indecent images of children, and one count of breaching a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO).

Jones was caught communicating online with four girls over several months, all under the age of 16.

He sent them explicit messages as well as videos of sex acts upon himself to the victims, one as young as 12.

He asked on two occasions for girls, aged just 14, to send him nude photographs.

He was also caught with two Category A images, four Category B images, and seven Category C images.

These counts breached the Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) put in place on February 7, 2020, which prevented Jones from contacting female children under 16 online and was set to last for five years from that date.

He was also sentenced to a three-month community order with a requirement to complete up to 10 rehabilitation sessions.

The order had been made by Swindon Crown Court after Jones had been caught by paedophile hunters sending 'repetitively lewd but rather depressing' messages to a 'girl' he was told several times was only 13.

As a result of breaching this order, Jones was jailed for 42 months subjected to notification requirements.

This means that upon release from custody, he will be asked to report to Swindon Police Station, and will have to do so indefinitely.

Jones is also barred from working with children and vulnerable adults.
