Households on a Swindon estate were left without water after a Thames Water main burst on Monday night (June 24).
The burst pipe in Minety Road, Penhill, was reported around at 6.30pm by residents who reported being without water an hour later. It affected 19 properties.
Residents with young children say they were left without water overnight while engineers completed repairs that evening.
One said: “It was really inconvenient as there's a family down there with a seven-month-old baby. I myself have a six-month-old and was worried about feeding him.”
A Thames Water spokesperson said: “Last night (Monday, June 24), our engineers responded to a burst water mains pipe on Minety Road in Swindon and completed the necessary repair that evening.
“Our team will remain on site today while they reinstate the pavement. A pedestrian walkway has been put in place to facilitate the work and we are sorry for any disruption caused.”
Water was seen flooding down Minety Road. While some on the street had water restored later that evening, others say water was only returning this morning.
A Central Swindon North Parish Council spokesperson said: “Burst water main reported to us by residents. Thames Water on scene and Swindon Borough Council notified.
“Ramsbury Avenue [round the corner from Minety Road]. 19 properties.”
