A dad-of-two who took a six-year break from car valeting after the birth of his son has returned in a new location.
Goran Amin managed his own car wash in Corporation Street for six years and is now up and running again in Haydon Wick with the aim of offering the best service in Swindon.
The 33-year-old opened the Northside Valeting Centre next to the Cross Street garage on Thames Avenue last month and wants to put more than a decade of experience to good use.
He said: “People love their cars and want everything to be tip-top.
“I want to impress people with how I look after their cars and when they’re happy with the service, which is charged at a fair price, they’ll keep coming back.
“I absolutely love this job and work hard to make a living and provide for my family.
“My staff are friendly and experienced, spend more time on the cars than other places, use top-quality products to wash and wax, and I check each vehicle myself after they’re finished to make sure it’s up to our high standard.
“If there’s a mistake, we’ll do it all again at no charge.”
Goran came to the UK from the northern Iraq area of Kurdistan when he was a teenager and has lived in Swindon for 18 years.
After living in the town centre and building up a loyal following of regulars at his former places of work, he hopes that they will return to support his latest venture along with a steady stream of new customers.
Within a year of taking a break from valeting ,he started looking for a new space but found it difficult to find the right one – until Cross Street Garage offered him a spot on the Greenmeadow Service Station lot.
Goran thought up a range of incentives to help get the ball rolling and grow his business.
He added: “My son is autistic and I know how difficult it can be for parents sometimes, so I’m offering a 30 per cent discount for families with children who have additional needs.
“I’m trialling a discount for pensioners as well, for a week from today.
“We also have a loyalty card – every sixth service is free - and give out free air fresheners. I just want to do little extra things to look after the customer as well as their car, because I appreciate that people are struggling with costs of living at the moment.”
