A Swindon charity has proved it can walk the walk with a four-decade feat of endurance.
STEP, Swindon’s charity for young people, is giving away prizes and getting people together for a public tea party as a celebration.
First up is the 40th anniversary tea party on Monday, July 22, for which tickets are now available.
A STEP spokesperson said: “We would like to invite all previous service users, parents, carers, referrers and supporters to join us for a cup of tea and some cake to catch up with you all and thank you for your involvement in helping us reach this milestone and making STEP the fantastic organisation it is today.”
A prize draw will take place four days later on July 26 with a chance to win an iPad, pamper hamper, children’s goodies, restaurant and days out vouchers.
STEP help seven to 18-year-olds who are experiencing isolation and exclusion due to either their lack of social skills, personal circumstances or poverty, living in Swindon or the wider community
They attend a two-hour session once a week around themes like anger management, building confidence and keeping safe.
These are taught through activities like art, discussion and games.
Raffle tickets can be purchased via PayPal using the email swindonstep@aol.com
