An inclusive walk, push, pull challenge will become an annual event in Swindon after the success of the first date.
More than 500 children, young people and staff from across Brunel took part in the event at Lydiard Park on June 28, raising nearly £1,500 towards resources for their classrooms and outdoor learning environments.
The challenge was supported by Swindon's community with attendance from family, friends, and trustees, as well as representatives from Swindon Borough Council and radio station, Swindon Community 105.5.
Visitors were kept entertained with music, dancing, and face painting, and there was even a special guest in the shape of Brody, the new mascot.
The event received high praise, with one Westlea pupil claiming it was "the best thing ever".
The Uplands School, which raised the most money, was rewarded with a bespoke bird table, donated by event sponsors dbd play.
Charity partners Uplands Enterprise Trust (UET) helped hand out sustainable wooden medals and record podcast interviews.
Following the reaction to the event, organisers have decided to make it an annual event and it will return in July 2025 with mascot Brody the dog. It has been promised that the challenge will be bigger and better.
