A road on the outskirts of Swindon has reopened after a major four-vehicle crash caused emergency services to rush to the scene.
The crash between Royal Wootton Bassett and Minety took place just before 9am on Wednesday, July 10 when four vehicles collided on Braydon Road.
Although the exact details of the crash are still unclear, one black vehicle landed overturned in a nearby field with one person trapped inside it.
Police cars, fire engines, land ambulances and an air ambulance were all seen rushing to the scene.
"We were called at 8:43am today with reports of a road traffic collision on the B4696 Braydon Road," said a spokesperson for Dorset and Wiltshire Police.
"Two fire engines were mobilised (Westlea and Stratton) and on arrival found one car had left the road with the occupier trapped.
"Crews used Halmatro cutting gear and airbags to stabilise the vehicle and extricate the casualty. The stop was in at 9:47am."
The road reopened to the public just after midday, and the South Western Ambulance Service confirmed that one casualty has been taken to Great Western Hospital in Swindon.
