A prolific shoplifter from Swindon has admitted to stealing food and coffee from a B&M store while on bail for a previous offence.
Michael Jefferies, 34, of Poplar Avenue, Pinehurst, was sentenced for shoplifting and pleaded guilty at Swindon Magistrates' Court on July, 10.
The offence happened on Friday, May 17 when he stole £44.50 worth of food and coffee from the B&M store in Ocotal Way, despite being on bail.
Jefferies has 35 convictions for 89 offences – 34 of which are for theft.
The hearing was adjourned and a new date was set for Monday, July 22.
Meanwhile, Jefferies was not granted bail, due to the risk of further offending, and will be remanded in custody.
Earlier this year, he was jailed for 12 weeks after stealing designer items and money from a car in Swindon, including a designer wallet, £520 in cash, one pair of designer shoes, one pair of Ray-Ban sunglasses, one pair of Versace sunglasses, two hats and a Hugo Boss jacket, totalling more than £2,000.
